ÁÔÇÅ´àÊÕ§äÇâÍÅÔ¹/ÇÔâÍÅÒ Spector Mutes
The Spector Mute was designed with the collaboration of Fred Spector, a musician with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and Jim Cavanaugh of Super-Sensitive Musical String Co. The actual functional design dates back to the 1700’s. The main principal is a sliding mute, which remains on the strings even when not in use. With today’s technology, they were able to use state-of–the-art dampening rubber that scientifically dampens the sound being transferred from the strings through the bridge to the body of the instrument.
